Quantity Surveying Lecturer

We are looking for a Quantity Surveying Lecturer with substantial industry experience, excellent teaching skills, communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and students.

This position is permanent full time, based in Manukau. Ideally the successful candidate will start immediately.

The role includes:

• Developing, preparing and effectively using delivery plans and materials.
• Updating and delivering the teaching content.
• Confident using the Learning Management System (Moodle) and MS Teams.
• Marking and moderation of assessments.
• Effectively working and collaborating with colleagues on content and professional development.
• Anticipating, being receptive to, and referring student related problems.

The successful candidates will:

• A qualification at level 7 or above in an area relating to the building or construction industry.
• A qualification, or studying towards, a qualification in tertiary teaching.
• Proven ability to create an innovative and dynamic learning environment for learners.
• Excellent technical skills and fully conversant with appropriate industry standard software (including Cost X) and professional practices.
• New Zealand experience in construction management and/or quantity surveying.
• Be skillful teaching practitioners with excellent communication and relationship-building skills, and experience of working in a multi-cultural education environment.
• Design effective learning experiences that build learner capability in practical ways that connect to the workplace.
• Communicate ideas of a complex or technical nature to students effectively using a variety of teaching methods.
• Integrate current and best practices in education and training into teaching and learning
