Canterbury Branch Annual Meeting

We will have Chris Allington of Holmes Solutions as our speaker, his bio is as follows:

I am a structural engineer by training, completing my PhD in Civil engineering at the University of Canterbury.  After graduation I lectured part-time for the engineering department and worked for Holmes Consulting Group as a Structural engineer.  I designed a number of interesting buildings around NZ, the largest being Christchurch Woman’s Hospital, which at the time was the first base-isolated building in Christchurch.  Not long after starting at Holmes, I convinced the Board that we should start a new division focusing on design, developing and testing new products and creating new IP.  That was the start of Holmes Solutions, and it has been my pleasure to be its CEO for the past 23 years.  

When I am not working, I enjoy riding my bike and have recently started racing on the velodrome.
