Description
Join the NZIQS for a presentation and site visit of Victoria University of Wellington's new Living Pā project currently under construction.
The Living Pā project is being built beside the existing Herenga Waka Marae and proposes to meet the Living Future Institute’s internationally recognised Living Building Challenge. This is considered the built environment’s most rigorous performance standard. The project is the University's first Living Building Challenge, with a significant focus put on wellbeing and sustainability in-line with the University's sustainable growth initiative.
This will be Aotearoa’s most sustainable educational facility. This project has been developed as a living lab for Māori studies. This three-storey innovation hub is designed to be fully self-resilient from decentralised infrastructure; rainwater harvesting provides all water required on-site, all grey & black water is processed on site via the Membrane Bioreactor water treatment system & all power will be solar generated.
