Job Description:

As a Commercial Manager at Cook Brothers Construction in Auckland, you will be at the forefront of our projects, managing and optimising commercial aspects to ensure the successful delivery of projects. Your role will involve collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, negotiating contracts, and leveraging your extensive Quantity Surveyor expertise to drive cost-effective solutions.

Duties

  • Advising Regional Manager and Senior Leaders on transactional and contractual matters.
  • Managing commercial risks and reporting.
  • Overseeing cost control, cash flow, and budgeting.
  • Conducting forecasting and reporting.
  • Handling subtrade packages, tenders, and pricing assistance.
  • Evaluating progress claims and variations.
  • Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with Quantity Surveyors on challenges and opportunities.

 

Qualifications, experiences and skills:

About you

  • 10+ years' experience on New Zealand commercial projects
  • Experience with a Main Contractor.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with diverse clients.
  • Relevant diploma/degree.
  • Expertise in preparing high-quality tenders.
  • Successful cost management throughout project life cycles.
  • Strong Commercial Acumen and knowledge of Construction Law.
  • Exceptional work ethic.
  • Most Importantly – Ability to work well within a team and have a good sense of humour
