Exactal is delighted to advise the recent success of the NZIQS BIM Roadshow, which ran over end March/early April through 5 cities in New Zealand.

The roadshow’s aim was to provide an update for NZIQS members on the NZIQS BIM Committee’s work regarding creating an industry standard for Quantity Surveyors’ BIM use. In each city, a member of the committee provided a briefing, with Exactal’s Product Specialist Johnathan Mudrovcic then showing the practical application of how the QS can apply these BIM best practice guidelines to their everyday work.

As part of the roadshow Exactal presented at:

Tauranga on 28th March (Presenters: Chris Prigg and Johnathan Mudrovcic)

Dunedin on 30th March (Presenters: Stephen Kleehammer and Johnathan Mudrovcic)

Christchurch on 4th April (Presenters: Keeley Pomeroy [NZIQS BIM Chair] and Johnathan Mudrovcic)

Wellington on 5th April (Presenters: Keeley Pomeroy and Johnathan Mudrovcic)

Auckland on 6th April (Presenters: Phil Molineux and Johnathan Mudrovcic)

All up, over 160 people attended the events.

Marilyn Moffatt, NZIQS Executive Director, notes “We have received very positive feedback from our members who attended the Exactal NZIQS BIM roadshows. Quantity surveyors understand the importance and growing influence of BIM and were keen to learn more about BIM best practice, and in particular the core skill requirements they need to know. The Exactal demonstration of how to incorporate BIM methodologies gave some very practical advice on how the QS can check to ensure they have been given all the information needed when using BIM.”

Penny Dolton, Sales Manager for Exactal Australia & New Zealand, adds “We were very pleased that the NZIQS & Exactal roadshows were such a success. It shows that members are ahead of the curve in terms of future-proofing their businesses with concepts such as 5D BIM. The roadshows have further strengthened our relationship with NZIQS, and we look forward to working with them as the standard is further developed”.
