5.30pm Event Open

5.35pm Message from event sponsor - Holmes Group

5.45pm Mazha Syed Ahmed - Ara - Progress of Ara's BIM graduate programme

A presentation on the progress of Ara's BIM graduate program. As this program was delivered last year for the first time, I believe it would be critical to its future if we got feedback from BIM professionals.

1. to obtain critical feedback from BIM professionals

2. to identify strengths and weakness of the program which will help us in course correction

3. to identify important topics emerging in a post COVID19 World

4. to identity important software skills

BIMSiNZ has always played a pivotal role in making our BIM program meet industry standards, and I hope we can rely on your support again.

6.05pm Kevin Hughes - CPB Contractors - Parakiore (Metro) sports Facility – BIM In the Field

With Innovation as a core value, CPB Contractors is enthusiastically pursuing the efficient and effective application of BIM and Digital Engineering technology to its projects in the field.

Demonstrating its use in reducing risk for both Client and Contractors on Parakiore (Metro) Sports Facility, Kevin will show how the technology has been put into practice to track and quantify in detail both primary and secondary steel, seismic elements, shop drawing coordination and to verify installation.

6.40pm Ewan Opie - Holmes Consulting - Kaikoura SH1 Earthquake Rebuild Case study – How Dynamo helped get a community get back moving again

The challenge of reusing data for multiple purposes within project designs is a growing aspiration within the global AEC industry. Holmes Consulting has had several exciting successes implementing new workflows, dynamic processes and this new way of thinking. This has been made possible through the adoption of the software package Dynamo.

Dynamo is a user-friendly graphical programming application that is used in conjunction with Autodesk Revit. This software can integrate with engineering platforms to create building models, link/drive parametric formulas to enable us to create complex geometry suitable for documentation purposes.

Through real-world case studies, we will show how Dynamo was used to benefit project delivery efficiency and clarify constructability on the Kaikoura SH1 earthquake rebuild, as well as how it can assist with complex structural framing geometry creation.
