NZIQS NZS3910 - about time for an update
Overview
The vast majority of NZ construction contracts are let under NZ3910, yet it has only had two 'limited scope' reviews in the last 20 years.
Description
There is now clear evidence that extensive and onerous special conditions and inappropriate risk allocation are contributing to a culture of mistrust, leading to poor outcomes on construction projects. So what are we doing about it?
There is no ongoing review process or mechanism for NZS3910 and the related standards. Being mindful that the 2013 edition took around 4 years to see the light of day, we must start now if we are to see a 2023 edition.
Presented by Paul O'Brien and Peter Degerholm
Peter and Paul will explore the proposition that NZS3910 (and related) conditions of contract need to be regularly reviewed and updated. Peter and Paul aim to provoke a wider industry dialogue on ensuring that NZS3910 continues to serve the needs of the industry.
