    Job Description

     

    This key role in our business involves the quantifying, tendering and negotiation of Commercial Plumbing, Roofing and Seismic Joint works across the North Island and further afield as we continue to grow.     *this role reports directly to the General Manager and works within our existing Estimating Team. 
    *you will be in charge of working out and estimating all costs relating to the tendering or negotiation of roofing and plumbing projects, from the initial takeoffs, calculations, sourcing materials pricing and rates to the final figures and discussions with the client. Successfully bidding and securing projects then ensures our continual flow of work across our regions and trades in which we employ over 230 full-time people.   
    *we are looking for an estimating superstar who has:
    *experience pricing, tendering and bidding for work in the construction industry, ideally plumbing and roofing and in the commercial sector;
    *the ability to read and interpret plans in your sleep and think outside the box;
    *confident and effective communication and relationship building skills to work alongside and with the client in order to add value and create win win outcomes.
    *thorough approach to work, ensuring that variation works are identified and costed in a timely manner;
    *a working technical knowledge of New Zealand building regulations and Health & Safety at Work Act;
    *sharp at number crunching, measuring, calculating margins, ensuring all pricing is competitive and payment claims are completed with accuracy; 
    *develop and grow relationships with external stakeholders/clients that are sustainable over the long term;
    *meticulous attention to detail;
    *excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work autonomously and to key deadlines;
    *confidence with technology, with strong competency in Excel being essential (experience with simPRO would be advantageous);
    *the ability to build constructive relationships with a wide range of people; and
    *adaptability and an openness to change.

     

     

     

     

    Desired Qualifications,Experience & Skills

     

    A tertiary qualification in construction or Quantity Surveying would be advantageous but not mandatory.
