Bridge It NZ specialise in the construction, inspection, and certification of bridges across a range of sectors including rural, forestry, council, and private access. They continue to experience significant ongoing growth and the launch of an exciting new FRP Fibreglass product into the New Zealand market makes them very keen to expand their successful team and engage a productive QS / Estimator and a Junior Project Manager.

Job Description

This newly created Quantity Surveyor role provides plenty of scope for you to make your mark, from developing processes through to sharing your commercial understanding, we want someone that is motivated by being part of a tight-knit team that contributes to our growth and success. You will be responsible for providing accurate estimates for our sales team and preparing and pricing tenders. Along with this, you will have the opportunity to play a critical role in supporting the Project Managers through the financial management of successful projects.

Ideal Attributes for this Position:
* Minimum of 3 years experience in a QS / Estimator role Ideally within construction / engineering industry.

* Sound knowledge of NZS3910 and NZS3916 contracts.

* NZDipQS qualification or similar.

* A good understanding of company financial requirements.

* Proficiency in the preparation and negotiation of tenders.

* A high degree of commercial acumen.

* Analytical and able to review completed projects to feed into future pricing. * Good conceptual ability – price without design.

* Highly accurate with attention to detail.

* Able to juggle workload and prioritise effectively.

 Although this isn’t a client-facing position, we do need someone who can confidently communicate at all levels and has the ability to work accurately and at pace in our team environment.
