CPD Activities - 45 Hours Required For Accreditation

The following are activities which have been approved as relevant through past accreditations by the CPD Committee, and will serve as a guide to members for the type of activity which qualifies for CPD accreditation.

• Attendance on Site Safe and similar construction site-related courses.
  
  
• Seminar attendance arranged by NZIQS and any other Construction Industry Council member association or institution. Examples have been;
  
  • OTIS Elevators Seminar - Horizontal Lift Transfer
    
  • NZS 3910
    
  • Contract Payment Protection legislation
    
  • Seminar on glass production methods.
    
    
• Attendance at other commercial seminars of relevance eg
  
  • Carters Trade seminar on exterior cladding and interior wall linings
    
    
• Attendance at workshops or courses arranged by company or through commercial sources for work skills, safety and/or professional development eg
  
  • Site traffic management supervision
    
  • Security of Payment
    
    
• Research, policy writing and implementation of company issues such as:
  
  • health and safety policy.
    
  • marketing initiatives and strategic planning.
    
    
• Briefs by sales representatives promoting new professional products.
  
  
• Massey University - distance study for tertiary Business Diploma or degree.
  
  
• Legal firm workshop on legal aspects of contracting
  
  
• Attendance at university or polytechnic lectures ie Cost modelling
  
  
• Attending training session on new developments in the use of stainless steel
  
  
• Attendance at NZIQS National and Branch AGMs, National and Branch Committee meetings and projects.
  
  
• Attendance at seminars and approved meetings of member organisations of the Construction Liaison Group ie NZIA, NZIOB, IPENZ, ACENZ, BRANZ, RMBF, NZBSF, NZCF.
  
  
• Reading of publications from related professional institutes eg NZIA, NZIOB BIA, BRANZ, Institute information through print or email.

Note: Activities approved as professional readings or professional body participation for CPD purposes do not receive hour accreditation for each hour claimed. See CPD Diary for details.
