

CPD Activities - 45 Hours Required For Accreditation
December 2002
The following are activities which have been approved as relevant through past accreditations by the CPD Committee, and will serve as a guide to members for the type of activity which qualifies for CPD accreditation.
- Attendance on Site Safe and similar construction site-related courses.
- Seminar attendance arranged by NZIQS and any other Construction Industry Council member association or institution. Examples have been;
- OTIS Elevators Seminar - Horizontal Lift Transfer
- NZS 3910
- Contract Payment Protection legislation
- Seminar on glass production methods.
- Attendance at other commercial seminars of relevance eg
- Carters Trade seminar on exterior cladding and interior wall linings
- Attendance at workshops or courses arranged by company or through commercial sources for work skills, safety and/or professional development eg
- Site traffic management supervision
- Security of Payment
- Research, policy writing and implementation of company issues such as:
- health and safety policy.
- marketing initiatives and strategic planning.
- Briefs by sales representatives promoting new professional products.
- Massey University - distance study for tertiary Business Diploma or degree.
- Legal firm workshop on legal aspects of contracting
- Attendance at university or polytechnic lectures ie Cost modelling
- Attending training session on new developments in the use of stainless steel
- Attendance at NZIQS National and Branch AGMs, National and Branch Committee meetings and projects.
- Attendance at seminars and approved meetings of member organisations of the Construction Liaison Group ie NZIA, NZIOB, IPENZ, ACENZ, BRANZ, RMBF, NZBSF, NZCF.
- Reading of publications from related professional institutes eg NZIA, NZIOB BIA, BRANZ, Institute information through print or email.
Note: Activities approved as professional readings or professional body participation for CPD purposes do not receive hour accreditation for each hour claimed. See CPD Diary for details.
