NZIOB Breakfast Presentation: Painting below zero - the Antarctic challenge

The NZIOB Northern Chapter in association with Resene invites its members to join us for a free breakfast presentation.
Dr Linda Kestle will talk about her experience painting in the Antarctic, the presentation includes a myriad of images and technical discussion about her experience.
Only two people are selected each year by the NZ Antarctic Society and Antarctica NZ from numerous applications to make this unique journey south and assist with general maintenance and painting. Linda will talk about her experience painting in the Antarctic. This will be followed up with an interactive discussion from Colin Gooch, Resene Technical Director on the technical challenges involved for the microns of paint applied in this environment.
Presenter 1 - Dr Linda Kestle PhD. Cant., MPhil (Arch), GCAntarcticStudies Cant., DipBldg (Hons)., NZCD (Arch). Linda has a wealth of education and experience - is a Senior Lecturer in Construction at UNITEC, focussing on areas of Sustainable Design and Construction, Design Management, Sustainable Urban Design and Professional Business Management (BCons/BArch/BEngTech) and Undergraduate Research Supervisor for Bachelor of Construction students
Presenter 2 - Colin Gooch, Resene Technical Director. Colin has worked at Resene for over three decades, most of this as Resene’s Technical Director, leading a team of highly qualified chemists developing many world first paint systems. He has pioneered a wide range of paint technologies, with a specialist focus in waterborne systems, and gained Environmental Choice approval for a wide range of Resene products in 1996.
