The NZIQS welcomes qualified, experienced quantity surveyors, students studying quantity surveying, and people who have an interest in quantity surveying to become members of the NZIQS.
Our membership categories are:
People studying quantity surveying at a tertiary institution in New Zealand only. Overseas students are not eligible for this membership status - see the International membership page
People not currently studying but may be working in the quantity surveying profession, or who have an interest in quantity surveying, or who may not meet criteria for other membership categories. Overseas students are eligible to apply for this membership status-see International membership page
People who have graduated with a NZ National Diploma QS and have construction experience, or who have completed sufficient experience in quantity surveying roles overseas and in New Zealand
People who have graduated from an New Zealand Quantity Surveying degree.
Members who are considered to have enough knowledge and experience to be granted full membership of the Institute
How to nominate someone for a Fellow, Life, or Honorary membership
For members who have attained the status of Member (MNZIQS), Associate (ANZIQS) or Fellow (FNZIQS) and who have retired from quantity surveying but wish to remain a member of NZIQS
Members who have achieved 'registered' status through experience, and on-going professional development.
Registered Quantity Surveyors are approved by the NZIQS Quantity Surveyors Registration Board. Registered Quantity Surveyors can use the post nominal 'Registered Quantity Surveyor'.
