Intermediate or Senior Quantity Surveyor

Due to ongoing growth, we are looking for either an Intermediate or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join / lead our commercial team. This is a 12-month contract with long term potential for the right candidate. 

The Company

Flame Stoppers Ltd (NZ's Leading Passive Fire Expert) is looking for an Intermediate / Senior level QS to join commercial team.

Job Description

• You will be expected to perform independently and confidently across all aspects of Quantity Surveying, including feasibility studies, cost plans and estimates, Schedules (Bills) of Quantities, procurement, and pre/post contract administration.
• Leading the commercial function.
• Effective management of a small Quantity Surveying team.
• Drive the commercial and business project performance.
• Must have a strong construction background.
• Estimating experience.
• Experience with cost control, budget monitoring and reporting on multiple projects.
• Risk management.
• Significant experience working on similar projects up to $50mil+ ideally.
• An ability to contribute with future strategy plans.
• An ability to work with numerous stakeholders at various levels.

Desired Qualifications, Experience & Skills

Qualifications:

• Relevant qualification (Quantity Surveying / Civil Engineering or similar).
• 5-10 years experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A can-do attitude.
• Effective time management skills.
• Highly effective problem solving and communication skills.
• Strong leadership potential.
• RICS / NZIQS or similar professional qualification (Preferred but not essential).
